| Jacqueline K Crofton’s continually evolving artistic vision has inspired a stunning and innovative new collection. These paintings are abstract and intricate, strategically woven with scraps of Japanese paper, leaves, petals and other found items. Some are flecked with gold leaf or characterised by vibrant or pastel colours scraped rather than brushed over the canvas. Mixed media materials are carefully chosen by an artist’s eye trained on qualities of texture with a final piece in mind that is always innovative and surprising, one that challenges common conceptions of beauty, vision and land. Beauty in art may be an old-fashioned ideal, but our need still has significance. Form, colour and personal vision may excite inspiration, understanding and curiosity in viewers. Featuring a diverse range of subjects and styles, Jacqueline’s extensive portfolio includes abstracted landscapes, attractive still life and thought-provoking figures. A wide variety of brushstrokes and paint application techniques show an incredible attention to detail so that a close look at one of her paintings can reveal an entirely different piece of work. Jacqueline is well-respected and has exhibited her work worldwide. Purchased by a distinguished clientele, her paintings are found in numerous private collections of connoisseurs and are featured in hotels and several famous restaurants in London and Paris. Her work is represented by Jiq Jaq Gallery in Hampstead, London. For more information, please contact the gallery on 0207 435 9300 or email jaq@jiqjaq.com. |
